This week our case is about Siyabonga Nkosi, he was a Eskom service provider.
A businessman (tenderpreneur) who is alleged to have overcharged power utility, Eskom. Siyabonga’s companies delivered invoices and there are Eskom officials who signed off on contracts that priced relays at R50,000 each, when the market price was between R180 and R450.
As a result, the manipulation led to Eskom financially losing over R73.6m.

His houses include:
- a R13.5 million house at the Capital on the Park in Tshwane
- a R10.8m house in Witfontein.
- In KwaZulu-Natal, Siyabonga has four properties which are valued between R5.7 million and R12.7 million, of which three are in Zimbali.
Seven of Siyabonga’s cars are also subject to the SIU’s preservation order.
His cars include:
- Two Lamborghini Urus
- Three Porsche Cayenne
- Panamera and
- Macan
Special Tribunal – Judge Bernard’s Order
“Judge Bernard Ngoepe ordered that Nkosi’s immovable properties, with immediate effect, are prohibited from being sold, disposed of, leased, encumbered (including by granting rights of retention), transferred, donated, or dealt with in any manner whatsoever other than in accordance with his order. This means that without a written agreement between the SIU and any of the involved parties, they cannot transfer ownership of the properties to anyone else.”
